A 20% - 30% profit from an in-house publishing project is a reasonable expectation. Chambers of Commerce, as with most other associations, are looking for creative ways to generate more non-dues revenue streams and save money wherever possible. Many chamber CEOs say that while new member sales are flat or slightly up, retention has been a challenge. Sponsorships are down. Special projects are stalled because they cannot be funded.
